Vocational Training Program
Global Arthik Samajik Sahyog Samiti (GASSS) runs Vocational Training Programs to empower community members, particularly women and adolescent girls, by providing skill-based training aligned with local needs and market demand. These programs foster motivation, self-reliance, and income-generating opportunities while enhancing livelihood security. Training programs include beautician skills, cutting & tailoring, soft toys making, bee-keeping, MCR, goiter awareness, and poultry farming.
Area of Operation: Mangolpuri, Delhi-110083
Objectives:
- To make participants self-dependent through skill development.
- To build the capacity of individuals for sustainable livelihoods.
- To improve management and operational systems of small enterprises.
Approach:
- Training conducted through participatory, hands-on methods.
- Market analysis techniques provided by expert trainers.
- Management tools and practical techniques shared for entrepreneurial success.
- Field visits to successful businesses to observe and learn best practices.
Target Population: 10 Self-Help Groups
Impact Assessment:
- Women gained skills and became self-dependent.
- 4 women groups trained in cutting & tailoring.
- 2 women groups trained in agarbatti making, some starting their own small businesses.
- Several women established training centers for other women in the community.
Through this program, GASSS strengthens women’s socio-economic independence, enhances community livelihood options, and fosters a sustainable ecosystem of skill development and entrepreneurship in Mangolpuri, Delhi.
