Non-Formal Education Center
Children are the most important part of society and represent the future of the nation. Without their holistic development, it is not possible to create a progressive and civilized society. Education is the foundation of development, enabling universal growth of children. To promote literacy and ensure education for all, Global Arthik Samajik Sahyog Samiti (GASSS) is running Non-Formal Education Centers for out-of-school children, primarily in the age group of 3–15 years.
Key Features of the Program:
- Providing free books, uniforms, and study materials to children.
- Supplementary nutrition through mid-day meals to support child health.
- Access to basic health services and recreational activities.
- Focus on holistic child development, aiming to create self-reliant and responsible citizens.
Functioning of the Center:
- The center operates from 8 AM to 1 PM under the guidance of trained and devoted educators.
- Teachers provide quality education focusing on the universal development of children.
- Attendance ratio remains excellent, while dropout rates are consistently decreasing.
- Community mobilizers assist teachers in regular follow-up with children and families.
Achievements:
- Increased literacy and awareness among children in marginalized communities.
- Improvement in children’s learning levels and participation in community development activities.
- 14 students successfully mainstreamed into formal education in government and private schools this year.
The Non-Formal Education Centers of GASSS are playing a vital role in transforming lives by ensuring education, health, and overall development of underprivileged children. This initiative strengthens the foundation of a literate, skilled, and responsible generation for a better tomorrow.
