Women Empowerment Program
The Women Empowerment Program of Global Arthik Samajik Sahyog Samiti (GASSS) is designed to promote the rights, knowledge, and self-reliance of women in Delhi, especially in marginalized communities. This initiative focuses on creating awareness about legal rights, providing counseling, and preventing atrocities against women while enabling them to actively participate in socio-economic development.
Area of Operation: Kanjhawala Block, Bawana, Delhi
Objectives:
- To make women aware of their legal, social, and economic rights.
- To prevent atrocities and violence against women by creating awareness and community vigilance.
- To provide women with information and knowledge regarding legal recourse, welfare schemes, and counseling support.
- To empower women to become self-dependent and actively contribute to their families and communities.
Approach:
- Organizing legal literacy training camps to educate women about rights and protections under the law.
- Facilitating access to Women Lok Adalat for legal redressal of grievances.
- Using traditional media, street plays, and community workshops to raise awareness about violence against women.
- Providing counseling services to victims of abuse and guidance on welfare schemes and legal processes.
Impact Assessment:
- Women became more aware of their legal rights and protections.
- Increased confidence and self-dependence among women participants.
- Community vigilance improved in preventing violence and supporting women in distress.
- Enhanced access to legal and counseling services for marginalized women.
Through this program, GASSS continues to strengthen women’s socio-economic position, promote gender equality, and create a safe and empowered community environment in the Kanjhawala Block and Bawana regions of Delhi.
